Typical Tuesday

My semester has been over for a couple of weeks now, so the last few Tuesdays have been spent relaxing by the beach, going hiking, and even scuba diving in Australia. However, my typical Tuesday during the semester was spent mostly in class or doing homework since it was my busiest day.

My Tuesdays started around 9:15 which gave me just enough time to get ready, eat breakfast, and walk across campus to my philosophy class which started at 10. This was one of my smallest classes with only about 20 students. It was also my only class where attendance counted towards my final grade. This class was supposed to last until 11:50, but it always ended early which gave me just enough time to rush back to the halls for lunch before my next class. Lunch in the halls consisted of one main option, a few different choices of sides, fruit, and dessert.

After lunch, I had geography from 12:10-2:00. Unlike philosophy, this class was in a big lecture hall with over a hundred people. After geography, I had a few hours to relax or do homework until my history tutorial. Tutorials are classes with smaller groups of people than in lecture and basically clarify anything that was confusing about the lecture or readings. I had my choice to go either from 4:00-5:00 or 5:00-6:00. Dinner in the halls is from 5:15-6:30, so I went directly after my last class. At dinner, I either sat with my floor or the other international students. For dinner, there were usually two options of meat, potatoes, vegetables, and a dessert.

In the evening, I’d usually hang out with my floor in the lounge. If dinner in the halls wasn’t great then we would get food somewhere else. Or we would watch movies and play card games. A few of us would also go to the gym Tuesday nights (shoutout LVC for the free gym pass). Overall, Tuesdays weren’t always the most exciting, but at least they were my only busy day during the week.
